Expanded clinical research programs

that bring novel therapies to kids, sometimes years before they are widely available.

Multidisciplinary care teams

that address a child’s needs from many areas of expertise.

New child-friendly care spaces

including sensory rooms for children with autism who need lab testing and other treatments

Minimally invasive surgeries

for scoliosis and other conditions of the spine.

what your support brings

The Do. More. campaign will take Dayton Children’s to the next level. Some of our most exciting innovations are already underway. Others are still taking shape. You can support multiple initiatives, including but not limited to:

1.

New fellowship training programs to attract up-and-coming clinicians in hospital medicine and emergency medicine.

2.

Expansion of our child life and music therapy programs which help children and families cope with the stress that comes with an illness or unexpected hospital stay.

3.

Expansion of sensory rooms for pre-surgery to help reduce anxiety and the amount of medication a child may need before anesthesia.

4.

Canine Co-Pilot program that enables highly trained canine partners to lend a paw during procedures, inspire socialization, help to address pain without medication and much more.

5.

Cutting edge research to better understand and develop more effective therapies for pediatric brain tumors and other rare diseases.

“Health care is evolving at a tremendously fast pace. We must focus on continuing to raise the bar. We would like to serve as a national example of how all communities can have world-class care for children close to home.”

– Dr. Adam Mezoff, Chief Medical Officer

impact story

do. more. for kids like Talley

Born in China with several congenital anomalies, Talley Thomasson had undergone 14 major surgeries by age 10. When her scoliosis required another surgery, her mom, Mandi, explored many options which eventually led to Dr. Michael Albert at Dayton Children’s. His personalized and innovative approach to surgery convinced them to choose Dayton Children’s for her care.
