Dayton Children’s is fortunate to have the support of dedicated volunteer organizations that raise money and awareness on the hospital’s behalf. Take a moment to learn more about the auxiliary organizations that commit their time and resources to supporting kids and families at Dayton Children’s.
We are always looking for new members to join our auxiliaries and would love to hear from you! Please contact us for more information about joining one of our volunteer teams!
TWIGs — Terrific Women in Giving — are groups of diverse individuals committed to providing support for a wide range of services at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
The TWIGs have raised more than $12 million since 1965 to support patient care, and in 2025 the TWIGs are celebrating their 60th Diamond Anniversary!
The TWIG Auxiliary recently completed a $1.2 million pledge and has pledged to raise another $1 million to provide funding and increase services for pediatric mental health.
There are 225 members participating in 16 TWIG branches throughout the Miami Valley. Much like branches and leaves support trees, TWIG branches support Dayton Children’s through various fundraising projects, including auctions, luncheons, fashion shows, scrapbook weekends, mom’s sales and more!
The talents of all the members come together for two premier annual events – the Gem City Jam golf outing, and the Sugarplum Festival of Trees.
TWIG members also may volunteer at Dayton Children’s directly with patients, or at special Twig-sponsored hospital events such as Secret Santa, Mother’s and Father’s Day crafts, family pizza parties, and making cinch sacks for use by EEG patients.
The key to success of the auxiliary lies in its members who are dedicated, innovative, and enthusiastic in their support of Dayton Children’s mission to always go “above and beyond” in the relentless pursuit of optimal health for every child within our reach. Along the way, lifelong friendships are forged among the members.
Formed in 1967, the Women’s Board of Dayton Children’s Hospital serves as a fundraising auxiliary board and also supports Dayton Children’s through volunteerism and outreach activities.
The Women’s Board’s biennial fundraiser, cha|cha, has raised more than $5 million for Dayton Children’s since the event’s inception. Today, the Board is composed of 40 community leaders whose mission is to improve the health, education and overall wellness of children in the community through direct support of Dayton Children’s Hospital.
The Women’s Board administers the HELP Fund, an ongoing program that supports various projects at Dayton Children’s. The Women’s Board also hosts an annual “Careers in Health Care” seminar for high school students who are interested in the medical field. They organize outreach activities within the community, providing expert speakers from the hospital’s staff. Women’s Board members regularly volunteer with the hospital’s child life program, assisting patients with craft activities.
Their largest activity for the hospital is our biennial cha|cha event, which is dedicated to supporting pediatric mental health services for kids at Dayton Children’s.
